Our thoughts

We at Nanasai will actively contribute to achieving the SDGs through our creations that are in beautiful harmony with the natural environment.

NANASAI actively contributes to the achievement of the SDGs through creations that harmonize beautifully with the natural environment.

I want to protect the beautiful nature.

Plastic pollution in the ocean and

Global warming has become a worldwide problem.

We must face this problem head on and pass on our beautiful nature to the future.

That is our mission.

The total amount of garbage generated in Japan is...

42.89 million tons

That's roughly the size of 115 Tokyo Domes.
It is said that the average person produces 920 grams of waste per day.

While the amount of waste generated in Japan is decreasing year by year, waste disposal costs are increasing.
This amounts to approximately 2 trillion yen (1,974.5 billion yen) per year .
This translates to 15,500 yen per person .

Source: Ministry of the Environment "General waste discharge and treatment status (FY2017)"

The effective utilization rate of waste plastic in Japan is advanced at 86 %.

However, "thermal recycling," which accounts for 58% of the total, burns fossil fuels and emits CO2.

From the perspective of global warming countermeasures, it cannot be said that resources are being used in an effective and sustainable manner.

A promise to the future

Efforts towards a sustainable society, such as the abolition of plastic straws and clothing recycling, are starting to take place all around us.

For the future of the Earth, Nanairo will begin by doing what it can.

1. We aim to create products that are kind to the environment and people.

2. We will promote the recycling of waste materials and strive to make effective use of resources.

3. We strive to reduce raw materials and energy consumption.

A towel made with PlaX Fiber, a polylactic acid. Polylactic acid is not derived from petroleum, but is made from sustainable resources such as sugarcane and corn. It also biodegrades under certain conditions, and emits less carbon dioxide when burned. It is also said to consume less water during production than cotton.

Water-based paint painting process

We are gradually switching over from lacquer paint to water-based paint for mannequins. Water-based paints are mainly made of water and do not use thinners, so they have a low environmental impact. They also do not cause solvent poisoning, so they protect the health of painters.

MANNEQUIN UPCYCLE

This series uses discarded mannequins that have outlived their usefulness, upcycling them through the hands of sculptors and reborn as products. They can be used in a variety of ways, depending on the customer's ideas, such as tables, stools, and art objects. In addition, each product is unique, as it is made and painted entirely by hand.

Quint

Mannequins are painted and shipped upon receipt of an order. Approximately 70% of the paint used is wasted as overmist. The accumulated overmist paint is mixed with some of the materials generated during the mannequin production process and discarded mannequin materials, and upcycled into one-of-a-kind earrings, rings, and key chains.

We hope that those who wear Quint will find small joys in life.

Flower Vase Cube & Abstract

We at Nanasai have a long history with mannequins. Mannequins have worked in various places such as department stores and art museums, and after a long time, they have been painted and maintained repeatedly and have retired from their roles. Usually, mannequins are handed over to specialized companies as industrial waste and reused as road paving materials such as asphalt. With the passion and respect to reduce the disposal of as many of these mannequins as possible, our craftsmen handcraft each one.
